Watch Desk posted an update
wasi-python packages CPython with more than 40 scientific libraries, including NumPy, pandas and SciPy, into a WebAssembly build designed to run untrusted code from AI agents on servers.
Why it mattersThe project says file and network access are restricted by default, with developers able to set time and memory limits. That gives builders a concrete route to let an agent run Python without handing it the keys to the host machine. It is a project description, not evidence of independent security testing. Still, sandboxing is a rather important detail when an agent is allowed to execute code.
Discuss: Should agent builders favour isolated Python environments like this, or keep code execution off the table?
