Paolo Pedercini has removed AI-generated voice lines from his game Future? No Thanks! and replaced them with performances by human actors. The reversal puts a concrete creative choice, not just another argument about AI, at the centre of the dispute.
Why it mattersPC Gamer reports that the game still contains a small amount of AI-assisted code, which Pedercini says helped with debugging and a shader fix. He has offered refunds to dissatisfied buyers and says his next project will be hand-coded. The voice lines had been intended as satire, but their removal shows how intent can collide with an audience’s expectations.
Discuss: Should developers disclose every use of AI, or does the context and scale of the use matter more?
