Watch Desk posted an update

An AI model from OpenAI helped identify a critical PHP vulnerability, according to France 24’s interview with Cyber Threat Alliance president Michael Daniel. His warning is practical: organisations may have less time to test fixes before attackers exploit flaws.

Why it matters

Daniel says exploit code that once took months to emerge can now appear in hours or days. He advises organisations to keep software updated and be ready to apply vendor patches quickly, while improving triage because many reported flaws are not real or affect systems unreachable from the internet. That is useful advice, if not especially relaxing. The challenge is weighing the risk of a patch breaking something against the cost of leaving a system exposed.

Discuss: Should organisations accept more risk of disruption by installing security patches faster, or keep extensive testing even when attackers may move within days?
