Jensen Huang says AI agents are pushing token use and GPU demand “through the roof”. The practical point: agents that reason, iterate and use tools can call for more computing than a simple chatbot exchange.
Why it mattersInvestor Gene Munster estimates agents can use 10 to 15 times as many tokens as chatbots. He also puts current daily bot use at about 15 million consumers and predicts it could reach billions in a few years. That is Munster’s forecast, not a headcount of future users already waiting in the queue. Yahoo Finance reports Huang made the remarks at a 21 October keynote in Berlin. If agents spread as their boosters expect, the computing bill may rise with them. Whether adoption matches the forecasts is the part still to prove.
Discuss: If AI agents use far more computing than chatbots, should developers prioritise making them more capable or making them more efficient?
