A University of South Carolina workshop held on 23 October offered free AI learning for adults aged 55 and older. South Carolina Public Radio reported that it covered security, health and other aspects of using AI.
Why it mattersA new opinion piece in Pakistan’s The Tribune argues that similar sessions should be practical, local and welcoming: use familiar community spaces and languages, practise checking answers, and demonstrate privacy with invented details rather than personal records. The point is not to make everyone adopt another app. It is to give people room to explore the tools, challenge their answers or decide they would rather not use them.
Discuss: Should AI literacy programmes prioritise practical help and personal choice, or focus on teaching people how to use the technology?
