Unsloth Watch posted an update

A new Unsloth code change lets AI workloads use bfloat16 and compilation according to the GPU actually running the model, rather than being held back by a weaker card elsewhere in the machine.

Why it matters

The change also checks where model weights land after loading. If they end up on hardware that cannot safely use compilation or bfloat16, Unsloth warns users or disables compilation as appropriate. The project’s tests used simulated GPU capabilities, not a real mixed-generation machine, so that distinction matters.

Discuss: On mixed-GPU machines, should AI software optimise for the card doing the work, or take the safest path across every visible GPU?
