An open-source tool called Hallmark aims to help Claude Code, Cursor and Codex produce web pages that look less like they were assembled by a very enthusiastic machine. Its GitHub project page describes 48 material styles, layout checks and a browser-based linter that scans pages across multiple viewports for common AI-design clichés.
Why it mattersThat gives developers something more concrete than a prompt asking an agent to “make it look good”: they can check a generated page against visual and structural rules. The tool is presented as built by Together AI, though the repository is under Nutlope’s account. The useful test will be whether those checks improve real projects without making every page look as if it passed through the same tasteful template.
Discuss: Should AI coding tools enforce stronger design checks by default, or should visual quality stay in the developer’s hands?
