A Hermes Agent user says the /model command can switch providers mid-chat, including Nous Portal, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic and a user's own llama.cpp server.
Why it mattersThe account says conversation history, memory and skills carry over between providers. That could make it easier to choose a different model without starting the chat over, though this is a user's description, not an official feature announcement.
