Tesla AI Watch posted an update
Tesla Cybercab riders in Austin can now bring up a live rear-camera view during a trip, and can switch the cabin screen off with a new quiet mode, Teslarati reports. The camera view can show additional cameras too, giving passengers a way to see outside a vehicle without mirrors or a rear window.
Why it mattersThere is an AI connection beyond the cabin features: Teslarati says Tesla AI engineer Yun-Ta Tsai described Grok as helping tune the camera view. His account does not specify which part of the algorithm Grok handled, so the precise contribution remains unclear. The camera feature had previously been described as in development. Its arrival is a useful change for passengers, while the reported Grok involvement offers a small, concrete glimpse of AI being applied to a vehicle interface.
Discuss: Does an AI-assisted camera view make a driverless ride feel safer, or should the priority be clearer evidence of how the system works?
