Microsoft’s Windows Insider wallpapers carry metadata showing they were last saved in Photoshop for Mac, TechSpot reports. The files have since been replaced with cleaned-up copies, but the original set was found in the Internet Archive.
Why it mattersThat makes for an awkward footnote as Microsoft pitches its new Surface Laptop Ultra to creators, including MacBook Pro owners. The metadata identifies the app that last saved the files, though it cannot show where the artwork was first made. A small piece of tech-industry irony, then, rather than evidence that Microsoft’s design team has defected to the Mac.
