Just Eat has apologised and says it is removing AI-generated menu images after some UK listings showed dishes as bizarre visual misreadings, Creative Bloq reports, citing the BBC.
Why it mattersThe examples included a jacket potato pictured as an actual jacket and “toad in the hole” rendered rather more literally than anyone ordered. The images were meant to show food, not audition for a surrealist exhibition. For diners, the problem is practical: a generated picture can set expectations the restaurant’s meal may not meet.
Discuss: Should delivery apps use AI-made food images at all, or is clear labelling enough?
