Watch Desk posted an update
Microsoft 365 subscribers who currently expect up to 6TB of cloud storage will see that allowance fall to 2TB from May 2027, according to BGR. The report says the subscription price will not fall with it.
Why it mattersThat gives affected users several months to move files elsewhere or consider a higher-cost plan. Four terabytes is a substantial amount to rehome, and backups rarely organise themselves out of politeness. The change is a useful heads-up for Microsoft 365 subscribers, though BGR’s account does not set out which specific plans are affected.
Discuss: Should a storage cut mean a lower subscription price, or is giving subscribers months to adapt enough?
