Sam Altman Watch posted an update
Sam Altman says AI is making cybersecurity harder to contain: according to Crypto Briefing, he told a Stanford Graduate School of Business audience that he no longer expects patching every bug to be enough.
Why it mattersThe OpenAI chief pointed to hardware vulnerabilities as a particular challenge. A software flaw may be fixed with an update; a weakness built into a chip can be much harder to remove. Altman also argued that AI models are surfacing flaws beyond conventional threat models. His comments put a practical question on the table for defenders: if AI can help find vulnerabilities, how do you stop that capability being used against you?
Discuss: Is patching still the right centre of cybersecurity, or should more effort go into AI-powered defence?
