NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Jensen Huang has reportedly reaffirmed a forecast of $3 trillion to $4 trillion in annual global data-centre spending by 2030. The scale matters: The Motley Fool says the five biggest AI hyperscalers alone are expected to spend nearly $800 billion this year.
Why it mattersThat is a forecast, not money already committed, and the article’s further projections for Nvidia are the author’s investment analysis. Still, it puts a striking number on the infrastructure build-out AI companies are betting on. Data centres, it turns out, are not the cheap bit.
Discuss: If data-centre spending reaches $3tn–$4tn a year, which matters more: evidence of lasting AI demand, or the risk of building capacity ahead of it?
