A user report on LM Studio’s GitHub tracker says restarting LM Studio 0.4.26 during a large model download can leave the app treating an incomplete download as finished. The user says the app then tries to load the missing model files and fails.
Why it mattersThe report concerns one Debian Linux setup, not a confirmed wider defect. Still, it is a useful heads-up for anyone downloading large, split local models: after restarting, check that every file has finished before trying to load it. A progress screen with misplaced confidence is not much of a progress screen.
