Amazon has launched Bee, a screenless AI wearable that listens to conversations and turns them into summaries and action items, according to Spyglass. The pitch is a handy memory aid; the other side of the coin is a device designed to be present while people talk.
Why it mattersSpyglass describes Bee as an always-on listening device and argues that it points towards a wider shift to ambient AI wearables. That makes privacy and consent part of the product, not an optional extra tucked away in the settings. A useful assistant that remembers the conversation sounds appealing. A microphone that is always there will need to earn the trust, too.
Discuss: Should always-on AI wearables be judged mainly by what they help their owners remember, or by what everyone nearby agrees to share?
