Bolna says its engineering team built a read-only AI agent that investigates production incidents through Slack, gathering evidence from code, logs and databases. The system has handled about 200 investigations, with most first answers arriving within two to ten minutes.
Why it mattersIts permissions are designed to stop it writing to production systems. That makes this a useful, specific example of AI assisting with incident diagnosis without being given the keys to make changes itself.
Discuss: For production debugging, is a read-only AI agent a sensible first step, or should teams expect stronger evidence of accuracy before relying on its answers?
