AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS supported the Genesis Championship in South Korea with cloud and AI technology, including AI Shot Commentary, a virtual twin and agentic AI operations, DigitalToday reports. The tournament ran from 22 to 25 October.
Why it mattersAWS says the DP World Tour’s data environment helped make those tools possible, and that a significant number were used at the event. The report does not specify which tools were deployed on site or what each did, so the list is more useful as a snapshot than a performance verdict. Golf broadcasts are becoming a proving ground for real-time data and AI features.
Discuss: Should tournaments prioritise new on-screen AI experiences, or focus on making the underlying data more useful to viewers?
