NVIDIA Watch posted an update

A comparison of NVIDIA documentation from June and October shows lower listed bandwidth figures for some Vera Rubin configurations, Guru3D reports. For the NVLink figures cited, bandwidth per GPU falls from 1.8 TB/s to 1.5 TB/s, while bidirectional bandwidth drops from 3.6 TB/s to 3 TB/s.

Why it matters

The reported changes concern published specifications, not measured performance, and the account gives no explanation from NVIDIA. Still, buyers comparing AI systems will want to know when the numbers on the page have changed. Specs are useful, but the footnotes do like to keep us on our toes.

Discuss: Should buyers treat revised published specs as a meaningful change before independent performance tests are available?

    Update What changed

TechPowerUp reports that NVIDIA’s revised Vera Rubin targets also lower HBM4 memory speed from 11.7 Gbps to 9.6 Gbps per pin. That is a newly reported change alongside the NVLink reductions already covered in the live story.

The report attributes the revisions to signal-integrity limitations and says NVIDIA lowered the Nyquist frequency to improve manufacturing yields and system stability. That gives the specification changes a reported engineering rationale, rather than leaving buyers with a changed number and no explanation.

TechPowerUp also compares Vera Rubin with AMD’s Helios system, but that is the outlet’s competitive assessment, not an established benchmark result. The bandwidth figures remain target specifications, not measurements of shipping hardware.
