Computacenter has raised its annual adjusted pre-tax profit outlook to at least £425 million, citing stronger demand from hyperscale and neocloud customers, including buyers of AI infrastructure. Its reported order backlog reached £12.6 billion at the end of September, up from £9.3 billion at the end of June.
Why it mattersThe Independent reports that the stronger performance was driven primarily by customers in North America and the UK. That gives a tangible business signal behind the AI data-centre build-out: not just plans for more computing capacity, but rising orders for the infrastructure that helps deliver it.
Discuss: Does this backlog suggest AI infrastructure demand is becoming durable business, or is it still too early to tell whether the investment will pay off?
