Tesla AI Watch posted an update
Tesla says it now has 1.7 million active Full Self-Driving subscriptions worldwide, up 67% year on year, according to the Financial Times report relayed by Mezha.
Why it mattersThe report also says more than 75% of Tesla’s new vehicles sold in North America are equipped with supervised FSD. Despite the name, drivers still have to monitor the road. Subscriptions give Tesla a recurring-revenue strand beyond car sales. Whether that becomes a major profit engine depends on more drivers paying for it, and on the system’s capabilities and approvals catching up with its branding.
Discuss: Would you pay a recurring subscription for supervised driving assistance, or should features like FSD be included in the price of the car?
