Meta AI Watch posted an update
Meta has moved the start date for its updated commercial terms from 30 October to 20 November, giving business partners and publishers three more weeks to examine provisions that have raised concerns about website content and AI.
Why it mattersMeta says the extension is to explain what is changing, including how its web crawlers work. The company also says site owners can still use robots.txt to signal their preferences, Marketing-Interactive reports, citing Reuters and a Meta spokesperson. A later deadline gives people more time to scrutinise the terms, but does not settle the dispute over what they allow. Should Meta narrow the wording, or is clearer explanation enough?
