AMD Watch posted an update
AMD’s Helion blueprint sets out two rack configurations for AI infrastructure: one using EPYC processors alone, the other pairing them with Instinct MI350P GPUs. Dell, Lenovo, Cisco, HPE and Supermicro are among the partners named in the report.
Why it mattersThe configurations are still in development, with timing planned for November 2026. AMD also intends to contribute the specification to the Open Compute Project, according to Yahoo Finance. For operators, the useful question is whether an open blueprint gives them more choice when building AI systems, or simply another plan to wait for.
Discuss: Would an open rack blueprint give AI infrastructure buyers meaningful choice, or will the real test still be who can ship working systems first?
