CoreWeave, Nebius and IREN each fell more than 3% in Monday’s US premarket, after Elon Musk warned that debt markets were close to stopping finance for companies without substantial revenue beyond AI data centres. The timing is notable, but it does not show that Musk’s post caused the falls or that any of the three firms has lost access to credit.
Why it mattersThe companies have different financial profiles. TokenPost reports that IREN’s latest fiscal-year revenue included $578.2m from Bitcoin mining and $128.8m from AI cloud services, while Nebius announced a $3.5bn financing facility on 22 October. Those details matter when weighing a broad warning about specialist AI cloud providers.
Discuss: Are these premarket falls a meaningful signal about the financing risks of AI infrastructure, or too little evidence to read beyond a rough day for the shares?
