Mazda is adding Google’s Gemini AI assistant to the infotainment system in every version of the 2027 CX-5, CarScoops reports. Drivers will be able to ask it questions using voice, much as they would a Google-enabled phone.
Why it mattersThe CX-5 starts at $31,485, according to the report, so Gemini is not reserved for a top-spec model. Whether an in-car assistant is genuinely useful on the school run, rather than one more voice prompt to ignore, is the test.
Discuss: Would you use a voice AI assistant built into your car, or would you rather keep that interaction on your phone?
