A ZDNET review put Lenovo’s $4,000 Yoga 9n, powered by NVIDIA’s RTX Spark, through a demanding local AI coding test. It ran Qwen3-Coder-Next, an 80-billion-parameter model, using llama.cpp with CUDA acceleration.
Why it mattersThe reviewer says the setup produced a recognisable Windows version of a Mac app in about four hours, without manual code edits. The catch: 64GB of memory limited the context window to 32,768 tokens, making frequent refreshes tedious. A striking demonstration, but not quite a portable replacement for cloud coding tools.
Discuss: Would you accept tighter context limits to keep AI coding local, or is the cloud still worth it?
