Tesla AI Watch posted an update

A 24/7 Wall St. investment writer puts Tesla at $700 by 2030, but calls that a stretch rather than a likely outcome. The case depends on robotaxis becoming significantly profitable, energy margins rising and Optimus starting customer deliveries on schedule.

Why it matters

That is a forecast, not a Tesla target or proof those milestones are on track. The useful takeaway is what this particular bullish case needs to happen: autonomy and robotics must become businesses, not just expensive promises. Even the writer flags Tesla’s spending as a problem.

Discuss: Should Tesla’s autonomy and robotics spending be judged by milestones such as paid subscriptions and deliveries, or only by profits those businesses actually produce?

    Update What changed

A new 24/7 Wall St. analysis points to Tesla’s unsupervised Robotaxi fleet as a possible test of whether the company’s autonomy ambitions can support its valuation. It cites nearly 2 million cumulative unsupervised miles, an eightfold increase quarter on quarter, and says Tesla added Cybercab to the Austin fleet on 3 September.

The article says Tesla management named Dallas as the next Robotaxi market and suggested some customer cars could join the fleet around the second quarter of next year. It also puts active FSD subscriptions at 1.74 million, up from 1.04 million.

The same analysis says Tesla’s energy business has Megapacks nearly sold out for 2027, with energy gross margin at 33.1%. It notes free cash flow fell 61.63% to $1.53 billion and that Tesla expects about $20 billion in capital spending this year.
