Google’s AI Overviews now appear in more than 80% of searches, up from 50% in June last year and about 15% the year before, Search Engine Roundtable reports, citing recent data from Semrush, SE Ranking and seoClarity.
Why it mattersThe figures show how quickly Google’s AI-generated answers have spread through its search results. A separate SE Ranking figure puts AI Overviews in 82.5% of US brand searches, a narrower measure rather than the same all-search estimate. That is a sizeable change to the search landscape, though the report does not give one shared methodology for the three datasets.
Discuss: Are AI summaries becoming a useful first stop, or is Google putting too much of the web behind its own answer box?
