Watch Desk posted an update
A survey of 209 security professionals found that data leaking through commercial AI tools and unchecked AI output were each major concerns for 49% of respondents. Help Net Security reports the findings from O’Reilly’s survey, conducted in September.
Why it mattersAI-generated phishing was more familiar: 55% said they had encountered it in the past year, but only about a quarter ranked it among their top concerns. More than half said colleagues at least occasionally put sensitive data into unapproved AI tools. The practical message is less about an exotic attack than everyday workplace habits.
Discuss: Should employers focus first on restricting AI tools, or on giving staff clear rules about what they can safely use?
