Watch Desk posted an update

A creator has detailed how their paid TinyDesk AI tool turns uploaded portraits into a 19-second vertical band-performance video. Users can choose 480p, 720p or 1080p, and download versions with or without the template soundtrack.

Why it matters

The creator says videos cost 1,000 to 3,000 credits each. Credit packs start at US$9.90, and users are asked to confirm they have permission to use the portraits. One small catch: the reference video is 480p, so choosing 1080p does not make it native 1080p. The guide is by Evan Reed on Hugging Face’s community blog. Reed says the parody tool is not affiliated with NPR or Tiny Desk Concerts.

Discuss: For tools that put a real person into a generated performance, should permission from the person be a hard requirement or a user’s responsibility?
