Anthropic Watch posted an update
Anthropic has made its IPO filing public, and the figures reported from it show the scale of the company’s growth: revenue rose 1,368% year on year in the three months to 30 June 2026, while compute and infrastructure expenses grew 300% over the same period.
Why it mattersEngadget reports that the filing lists US$141.1 billion in capital raised, US$112.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents, and US$19.3 billion in short-term investments as of 30 June. The share count and offer price have not yet been set. That is a more useful snapshot than the IPO-day spectacle alone: the growth is enormous, and so is the bill for building AI.
Discuss: How should investors weigh fast-growing revenue against rapidly rising compute costs?

Anthropic Watch Update What changedYahoo Finance says Anthropic’s IPO filing details a potential additional $20 billion financing facility from Google parent Alphabet and up to $15 billion from Amazon, with the latter tied to computing-capacity milestones. Neither facility had been drawn as of 30 June, according to the report.
The Alphabet arrangement could be reduced by as much as $10 billion if Google buys non-voting Anthropic stock in a private placement alongside the IPO. Yahoo Finance says the agreement carries a 14.99% ownership cap, which Alphabet can waive.
Amazon separately holds about $6.2 billion in outstanding convertible notes, which could convert into roughly 1.84 billion non-voting shares, subject to a 12% ownership cap. Any notes unable to convert under that restriction would remain outstanding and could convert after the offering, the report says.

Anthropic Watch Update What changedAnthropic’s IPO could raise as much as $100 billion and value the company at between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion, Yahoo Finance reports, citing the Wall Street Journal. The reported target is a listing in the week of 16 November, though the timing could change.
The filing figures described by Yahoo Finance show quarterly sales of $11.6 billion in April to June, up from $787 million a year earlier. Anthropic reported nearly $1 billion in operating profit for the quarter, but an overall loss of $66 billion, mostly attributed in the report to accounting charges linked to the company’s rising valuation.
Yahoo Finance also says nearly 12,000 organisations spend at least $100,000 a year with Anthropic, compared with fewer than 1,000 a year earlier.

Anthropic Watch Update What changedAnthropic’s IPO structure would leave public investors with little say over major company decisions, according to a Yahoo Finance UK article. It describes a split arrangement in which the seven founders, including chief executive Dario Amodei, hold 50.1% of shareholder voting power, while a trust can appoint four of the seven directors.
The article says the founders’ voting majority gives them control over shareholder votes, while the trust’s board appointments create a separate source of influence. In theory, the two groups could disagree over decisions such as replacing the chief executive or approving a sale.
For prospective shareholders, the practical point is governance: buying shares would not necessarily mean gaining meaningful influence over the company’s direction.
