AI services company iMerit has launched a platform for recruiting and managing specialists who evaluate, fine-tune and validate AI models. Its existing community includes more than 30,000 vetted professionals across 118 countries, covering 106 languages and disciplines including medicine, mathematics and agriculture.
Why it mattersWhat happened The iMerit Scholars platform gives developers tools to recruit, onboard, assess, assign and pay experts. It is built around iMerit’s Ango Hub platform for data annotation, workflow automation and model fine-tuning, and supports work with multimodal training data, model evaluation and feedback. SiliconANGLE reports that payment processing and compliance are handled through an integration with Trolley Technologies. The company says it screens potential experts in stages, including domain-specific assessments and peer review for its most specialised work. It manages customer projects, quality assurance and auditing rather than simply matching clients with contractors. Pricing can be hourly, tied to deliverables or linked to measurable outcomes.
Discuss: When an AI model is being built for a specialised field, should expert evaluation be a standard part of development or an optional extra?
