OpenAI and Coupang co-hosted an overnight AI hackathon in Singapore, where 60 participants tackled challenges using Codex. The event ran from 24 to 25 October, with a total of US$13,000 in OpenAI API credits shared among winners.
Why it mattersThe challenges included building AI-powered games, spotting mismatches in AI-generated product listings, and creating shopping experiences in teams. Kay Hng Quek topped the overall rankings. The event offers a small, practical glimpse of how builders are trying Codex across different tasks.
Discuss: Should AI hackathons reward polished products, or the strongest evidence that a tool helped people build something useful?
