Anthropic Watch posted an update
Anthropic’s revenue per employee rose to more than $6.6 million over the past year, up from $1.4 million a year earlier, Yahoo Finance reports using figures from the company’s IPO prospectus. Its headcount nearly tripled while revenue grew 13-fold, according to the report.
Why it mattersYahoo Finance calculates that only Nvidia earns more per employee among the comparison group. The measure is sales, not profit, and the report notes that Anthropic rents much of its computing capacity, so some people running its data centres work for Google and Amazon. Anthropic says Claude wrote more than 90 per cent of the code added to its codebase in September. That is the company’s claim, alongside a striking productivity measure that investors may want to examine rather than take as a verdict.
Discuss: Should revenue per employee carry much weight when comparing an AI company with firms that employ people in very different kinds of work?
