Anthropic Watch posted an update
Anthropic disclosed a $15bn revolving credit facility for letters of credit in its IPO filing, Global Trade Review reports. The facility was signed in September and is intended for working capital and general corporate purposes.
Why it mattersAs of June, Anthropic had $78m in letters of credit outstanding and had borrowed nothing under the facility. The company must also maintain at least $5bn in liquidity at each quarter-end, according to the report. That gives investors a clearer view of the financial machinery behind an AI company’s expansion. A $15bn facility sounds enormous; the amount actually drawn so far is rather less dramatic.
Discuss: Should investors treat a large, mostly undrawn credit facility as prudent flexibility or as a warning about the financing demands of AI growth?
