AMD Watch posted an update
The OptiScaler modding community has modified AMD’s FSR 4.1.2 upscaler to run on Intel Arc graphics, using Intel’s XMX AI hardware. KitGuru reports that early tests on Arc cards show the experimental FSR 4.1.2 Lite model performing close to Intel’s own XeSS upscaler.
Why it mattersIn one reported test, an Arc B580 took 0.59 milliseconds to upscale with FSR 4.1.2 Lite, against 0.58 milliseconds for XeSS. An Arc A770 test recorded 101.5 frames per second with the Lite model and 101.1 with XeSS. Those figures come from user-shared results, not a broad independent test. The AI-based upscaler is unofficial, currently targets DirectX 12 games and requires manual file replacements. Still, it is a concrete demonstration that AMD’s model can run on Intel’s dedicated AI acceleration hardware.
Discuss: Would you try an unsupported mod for near-native performance, or wait for an official implementation?
