Almaty Management University integrates AI across its curriculum, with specialist courses in fields including business, marketing and psychology, says institute director Aigul Sarenova. The university’s approach offers a concrete example of AI education moving beyond computer science departments.
Why it mattersSarenova says ICT and AI are required nationally in Kazakhstan, while the university adds courses tailored to students’ fields. Staff are also developing their skills through professional courses and seminars. The point is not simply to teach students another tool: Sarenova argues universities must make learning relevant to real life as AI changes how people access information.
Discuss: Should AI be a required part of every degree, or taught mainly where a subject needs it?
