Anthropic Watch posted an update
AI-linked shares rose on 26 October after Anthropic disclosed its IPO paperwork, The Straits Times reports. Nvidia gained nearly 3%, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose by more than 3%.
Why it mattersThe move also reached data-centre operators and chipmakers: Applied Digital gained 1%, IREN 3%, AMD 2.5% and Broadcom 3%, according to the report. It is a snapshot of investor reaction, not evidence that an IPO will deliver lasting gains. Still, Anthropic’s debut could influence how markets value the wider AI trade, from chipmakers to infrastructure firms.
Discuss: Should an AI company’s IPO be treated as a test of the whole AI trade, or only of that company’s own prospects?
