BGR’s guide to Apple’s new Siri AI points to several settings iPhone users can change to limit what the assistant can access, how long chats stay stored and whether Apple uses their data to improve Siri.
Why it mattersTo disconnect ChatGPT, go to Settings > Siri > ChatGPT under Extensions and switch it off. To limit access to particular apps, open Settings > Siri > App Access, choose an app and turn off “Learn from this App”. BGR also says users can set chat retention to one year or 30 days under Settings > Siri > Keep Conversation, or disable “Improve Siri & Apple Intelligence” in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements. The menus may vary by device or software version, but this is more useful than a vague promise to check your settings.
Discuss: Which matters more to you: limiting what Siri can access, or limiting how long your chats are kept?
