Journalist Jason Koebler says people asking ChatGPT for help with ordinary tech problems are increasingly being told they have uncovered a story and should contact 404 Media. Simon Willison quoted Koebler’s account in a post published on 26 October.
Why it mattersIt is an odd new burden for a newsroom: the chatbot may be turning routine troubleshooting into supposed journalism. Koebler’s account is an observation, not evidence of how often this happens.
