Anthropic Watch posted an update
Anthropic’s planned Nasdaq listing could qualify for the exchange’s fast-entry rule, which lets some of the largest new listings join the Nasdaq-100 after 15 trading days rather than waiting at least three months. If included, funds tracking the index would have to buy the shares.
Why it mattersYahoo Finance points to SpaceX as a warning against treating that buying as a guaranteed boost: its shares fell after joining the index. Anthropic’s offering size is still unknown, and the amount of stock available to trade could affect the scale of any index-driven demand. The IPO mechanics may matter as much as the ticker.
Discuss: Should investors treat possible index-fund buying as a meaningful reason to value a new listing more highly, or as a short-lived trading effect?
