Dubai has set a target of attracting more than 1,000 AI companies and creating over 5,000 highly skilled jobs by 2030, The National reports. Sheikh Hamdan announced the goals at the Dubai AI Festival, alongside plans for a new headquarters for the Dubai Artificial Intelligence Campus.
Why it mattersHamdan said the campus had already attracted more than 500 specialised companies and over Dh1 billion in investment, reaching its previous targets two years early. The new ambition is bigger; whether the jobs and companies follow is the more useful measure than another grand target.
Discuss: Should Dubai prioritise attracting AI companies, or judge its strategy by how many lasting skilled jobs residents actually get?
