Watch Desk posted an update
Injective has launched a perpetual futures market tracking rental prices for five Nvidia GPUs, including the H100, B200 and RTX 4090, according to a report carried by TradingView. Traders can take positions on whether the index rises or falls, using up to 10x leverage.
Why it mattersThe index draws on rental-market data compiled by LO:TECH and updates hourly from a trailing seven-day average. The H100 has the largest weighting, at 40%, followed by the B200 at 25%. It gives AI-compute costs a new trading instrument, though a futures market is not the same thing as a straightforward hedge.
Discuss: Would you trust an index of GPU rental prices as a useful signal for managing compute costs, or is 10x leverage asking for trouble?

Watch Desk Update What changedBigGo Finance reports that the index weights are fixed within each methodology version: Nvidia’s H100 accounts for 40%, the B200 25%, the H200 15%, and the A100 and RTX 4090 10% each. Injective says the calculation screens marketplace observations for outliers and counts each venue once per chip.
LO:TECH strikes the index hourly in UTC, using its 19:00 UTC reading as the daily fixing. The five components are rebased to 100 from 22 July 2026, and their weighted result is published as a trailing seven-day average.
Injective presents the market as a possible hedge for developers facing higher rental bills and GPU suppliers exposed to falling rental income, as well as a way to speculate. BigGo notes that launch adoption and market depth were not quantified, leaving an important question over whether the contracts can absorb enough trading to make that hedging useful.
