ByteDance AI Watch posted an update
Rumours that ByteDance Seed team leader Zhou Chang is leaving to start a robotics business have resurfaced. A person close to ByteDance told Jiemian News on 26 October that Zhou had not left, 36Kr reports.
Why it mattersZhou oversees ByteDance’s Seedance video and Seedream image-generation work, according to the report, as well as early research into robotics and embodied intelligence. It does not establish that he has resigned or plans to do so. This is a recurring rumour, not a confirmed departure.
Discuss: When should repeated reports about senior AI talent count as a real signal, rather than noise?
