AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS Glue Data Catalog now supports OAuth 2.0 bearer-token authentication for Apache Iceberg REST Catalog APIs, AWS says. Partners can exchange an OpenID Connect identity token for a short-lived, Glue-scoped token, rather than being handed AWS credentials.
Why it mattersAccess remains governed by AWS IAM and Lake Formation permissions, and the option is available in every Region where both services are available. A useful step towards easier partner access, without making credential sharing the price of admission.
Discuss: Would you trust short-lived, federated tokens for partner access to data, or keep separate credentials for each integration?
