Georgia Tech researchers have developed ORISA, a tool that can recover deleted conversations from AI assistants running on Android phones, TechXplore reports.
Why it mattersThe tool can also rebuild recovered information into a working AI session. So deleting a chat may not mean every trace has vanished, at least in the cases ORISA can handle. That is a useful privacy signal for anyone using AI assistants on Android. Should chat apps make clearer what deletion removes, even if recovery is only possible with a specialist tool?
Discuss: Should AI chat apps explain exactly what deletion removes, even when recovering a conversation requires a specialist tool?
