A Dentons study says company legal departments are receiving a rising volume of AI-written grievances, customer complaints and data requests. Lawyers interviewed said the challenge is often sorting out what matters, not simply reading more.
Why it mattersThe research drew on interviews with senior in-house lawyers at ten companies in the US, UK and Ireland. Dentons says companies are mostly using AI for narrow, repetitive tasks, while few interviewees reported using it to replace a role or function. AI can make it easier to produce a polished-looking complaint. Whether it makes the complaint stronger is another matter, and legal teams still have to work that out. The findings are reported by RTÉ and reflect a small set of interviews, not a survey of all businesses.
Discuss: Should organisations treat AI-written complaints like any other submission, or set up a separate process for handling the extra volume?
