AMD Watch posted an update
AMD’s data-centre revenue more than doubled year on year to $6.7bn in its second quarter, accounting for more than half of total sales. The chipmaker is due to report its third-quarter results on 3 November, with analysts expecting revenue of about $13.08bn.
Why it mattersCrypto Briefing says EPYC server processors and Instinct AI GPUs drove much of that growth. Its analysis also argues that tighter financing for data-centre builders could eventually weigh on chip orders, though AMD’s reported second-quarter figures show no such slowdown yet. That makes next week’s data-centre figures the line to watch, rather than treating the AI boom as one undifferentiated trade.
Discuss: Will AMD’s results show that AI infrastructure demand can keep growing even as financing gets tougher?
