Hyundai has launched the Bayon SUV in India, with a generative AI voice assistant that can answer English-language questions about travel, weather, hotels and news. It is the model’s clearest AI development, rather than a case for treating every connected-car feature as artificial intelligence.
Why it mattersThe assistant combines Perplexity’s search with SoundHound AI’s voice technology, according to Automotive World. Hyundai also lists SmartSense Level 2 Pro driver assistance and more than 70 connected services. The useful test will be whether asking the car for help feels simpler than reaching for a phone, and whether its answers are dependable on the move. That is more interesting than another dashboard with a voice button.
Discuss: Would you trust an in-car AI assistant for useful travel and news questions, or should it stick to basic commands while you drive?
