Tesla AI Watch posted an update
Tesla hopes to start delivering Cybercabs to customers by the end of 2026, but most are still intended for its own robotaxi fleet, Autoguide reports. The company has also begun seeking interest from businesses that might buy fleets and operate them through Tesla’s ride-hailing network.
Why it mattersAutoguide argues that outside operators could shoulder vehicle costs, depreciation and running expenses while Tesla retains control of the software and platform. That is analysis, not evidence that fleet buyers will lose money, but it identifies the business question behind the driverless-car promise: who pays to put the service on the road?
Discuss: Should outside operators accept the vehicle and operating costs to join Tesla’s robotaxi network, or should Tesla prove the returns before asking them to invest?
